Leaders Inspect Mwala Cluster Water Supply Project as Construction Progresses

In a strong demonstration of collaborative leadership, the Chief Officer for Sanitation and Environment, Simeon Kitheka, joined Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Erick Muriithi, Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, and Members of the County Assembly for a high-level inspection of the Mwala Cluster Water Supply Project.

The transformative project, being implemented in partnership with the National Government, is making significant progress toward addressing water scarcity challenges in Mwala Sub-County through the development of modern water infrastructure, including a state-of-the-art treatment plant in Kyeleni Ward.

Once complete, the project is expected to serve as a critical lifeline for the semi-arid regions of Masii, Mwala, and Mbiuni, providing sustainable access to clean and safe water for thousands of residents.

Beyond improving household water access, the initiative is also expected to enhance sanitation, support agricultural productivity, and stimulate socio-economic growth across the region.

The project reflects continued efforts by both levels of government to invest in sustainable water solutions that improve livelihoods and strengthen climate resilience in water-stressed communities.
